Fr. Beau Braun
My name is Fr. Beau Braun. This is my second time coming to Brainerd and serving the parishes of St. Francis, All Saints, and St. Thomas of the Pines. Three summers ago, I spent time there as a deacon. Now, after serving the parishes of Hibbing for the past two years, I am looking forward to being a part of these parishes again as well as the broader community as your priest.
I grew up in Morris, MN as the youngest of four children. Early on in my childhood we struggled to live the faith as a family, only attending Sunday Mass while often grumbling. My family decided to travel to Medjugorje on a pilgrimage. This provided the opportunity to conversion that my family needed. I remember a definite change in the way we practiced the faith after that pilgrimage. I thought about the priesthood early on as a kid, fascinated by the calling, and this conversion nourished that seed.
Out of high school I entered St. John Vianney Seminary in St. Paul and continued to graduate school across the street at St. Paul Seminary.
This transition doesn’t come without its challenges. We both are entering into this change and into new relationships. Loving again is not easy. I am not telling you anything new; this is not your first time getting a new priest, especially a new associate pastor. But if there is one thing I have learned from my time in seminary and now as a priest, we are Catholics and are family. I will do my best to live this unity that God desires of us.
